Grills we made by Lake Talkša

We are delighted to contribute to the ongoing improvement of our city and its public spaces. After winning a Šiauliai City Municipality tender, we manufactured and installed three of our custom-made barbecue grills by Lake Talkša – one of the most beautiful and welcoming places in Šiauliai.

The grills were made to order and based on a specially developed design, while their uniqueness is further enhanced by laser-engraved symbols of the city of Šiauliai. The details of the grills feature the Golden Boy, a fox, a archer, and the Šiauliai Water Tower – symbols that are an integral part of the city’s identity.

We completed the project ahead of the contractual deadline. Although the delivery deadline was set for August 8, we completed the work as early as August 3, because keeping our commitments and delivering results to our clients as quickly as possible is important to us. On the same day, we not only delivered the grills but also installed them ourselves on the shores of Lake Talkša, ensuring they were ready for use immediately. It was great to see that the grills did not go unnoticed – that very same evening, they were already being used for their intended purpose.

For us, it is important not only to manufacture a high-quality product, but also to create something that naturally blends into its surroundings and becomes a part of them. We hope these grills will become a place where families, friends, and local residents can gather, enjoy time in nature, and create wonderful memories together.

Firefighter Training Tower

Having won a public procurement tender from the Fire and Rescue Department, Kalmetal executed the complete firefighter training tower project - spanning everything from engineering design and technical justification to manufacturing, testing, installation, and handover to the client.

The project was carried out in compliance with applicable European and Lithuanian technical regulations and standards, including Eurocode (EN 199x) design standards, EN 1090 requirements for steel structure fabrication and CE conformity, EN 1991-1-4 for wind load assessment, EN ISO 12100 for risk assessment and EN ISO 14122 for safe access requirements.

Project execution included the following:

  • Risk assessment procedure in accordance with EN ISO 12100,
  • Structural strength and stability calculations,
  • Wind and dynamic load analysis,
  • Calculations for bolted connections and anchoring,
  • Preparation of a 3D model,
  • Safe usage instructions,
  • Preparation of assembly, operation, transport, and dismantling instructions,
  • Manufacturing of the approved design according to the agreed schedule.

Prior to handover, tests regarding the structure's assembly, operation, and dismantling were conducted, confirming that the solution is safe, reliable, and suitable for intensive use. The project was successfully completed and officially handed over to the client ahead of the contractual deadline, ensuring full compliance with the public procurement technical specifications and applicable standards.

This project demonstrates Kalmetal’s expertise in executing complex, specialized steel structure projects - spanning from the initial concept and engineering calculations to the preparation of documentation, manufacturing, testing, and final handover. We apply this experience when delivering custom projects for clients in the industrial, sports, and public sectors, as well as for international clients.
